Who we are
This privacy notice covers efamousdigitalmotionlab.com, the website of DigitalMotionLab, a creative production studio offering animation, video, AI-assisted content and website services. The contact form
When you submit the contact form we collect your name, your email address and your message. These are sent to our own inbox by email so that we can reply to you. They are not stored in this website database and we do not add you to any mailing list.
The chat assistant
If you use the chat assistant in the corner of the site, a summary of the conversation is emailed to us so we can follow up. It is sent when you close the chat or leave the page, and only if you sent at least two messages. It contains:
Your messages and the assistant replies
The email address you give, if you choose to give one
The page you were on and the site that referred you
The date and time
Location from your IP address
Like every web server, ours receives your IP address with each request. When a chat summary is emailed to us, we use that IP address to look up an approximate location, without asking you. This gives us a rough city, region and country, your time zone and your network provider. The lookup is carried out from our server by ipwho.is, a third-party service, so your browser never contacts them, and the result is cached for twelve hours. The location is approximate and often reflects your internet provider rather than where you are.
Voice input
The assistant can be spoken to and can read its replies aloud. Spoken replies are produced by your own browser and go nowhere else. If you use the microphone, Chrome and Edge send the recorded audio to Google speech recognition service to turn it into text. That is how those browsers work rather than something we have added, and typing your question instead avoids it completely.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies and we do not track you across other websites. The assistant stores a single marker in your browser session storage so that it does not reopen itself once you have closed it; that marker disappears when you close the tab. Our caching and security tools may set functional cookies needed for the site to work.
How long we keep information
Contact form messages and chat summaries stay in our email inbox for as long as they are relevant to your enquiry or our working relationship, and are deleted when they are not. Neither is stored in the website database.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@efamousdigitalmotionlab.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union and you are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
